2.E-business & E-commerce

When talking about business and the online aspects surrounding them there is the belief that there are two terms one needs to have a firm grasp around to fully understand. They are that of e-commerce & e-business. It is important to understand these so here is a definition of each to help get your head around them to better understand both.

E-business:
The best way to describe e-business is that it refers to companies that solely operate in a online environment. As a rule of thumb these businesses are called dot-com businesses to distinquish them from brick & mortar companies that operate in physical location.

E-commerce:
Is completely different, e-commerce includes e-business but also extends to all electronic transactions and processes. It may also be the internal processes behind the business that consumers are not aware of.

Any brick and mortar store can become an e-commerce business by adding a virtual storefront with an online catalogue.

Feel free to add anything you may find relevant that I may have left out in the comments below. It would be good to get some positive feedback.

Thanks,

The human Flame...
